Panther Golf Falls to Duxbury

The WH Panther golf squad lost to the Duxbury Dragons today at home 223-248 to fall to 2-7 on the season.

Today's match was senior night for the Panthers, celebrating 7 players, who all played some of their best golf of the season.

Senior Captain Pat McBroom was the match medalist with an impressive 1 over par, 35. Senior captain Chris Ross turned in an 8 par, song with freshman Cooper Britton, while seniors Jack Carron, Cam Murray, and captain Drew Sullivan played bogey golf, each shooting a 43.

"Duxbury is always a challenging opponent," admitted Coach Brian Dempsey. "Despite our loss today, I'm extremely proud of not just our players in the match, who stepped up to the challenge to turn in their lowest score of the season, but also to the entire team, who showed great support for their teammates."

Senior Jack Dunn made his first appearance in the Panther uniform after being with the team since his freshman year. His round was capped off by an impressive up and down on the 9th hole, draining a difficult 8 ft putt. "There's no one more deserving for a spot in the lineup than Jack (Dunn) tonight," added Dempsey. "Since freshman year, he's been the first one to offer a fist bump or an encouraging cheer before and after matches, so we were thrilled to be able to give him this opportunity."

Congratulations to the 7 seniors tonight! Listed below (from left to right): Drew Sullivan (Capt), Matt a Casarano (Capt), Pat McBroom (Capt), Jack Carron, Cam Murray, Chris Ross (Capt), and Jack Dunn.
