Its official... Team Devlin (representing Hanson) defeats Team Green (representing Whitman) in round 2 today to take home the 2012 Panther Cup. With the win, the team will go down as the first ever to win the prestigious trophy.
The team entered round 2 with a 5 1/2 - 3 1/2 lead. Captain Shane Devlin and partner Mike Capellupo faced off against Captain Josh Green and Cole Manning in doubles play today; they pushed to keep TeamDevlin up by 2.
In the second grouping, Alex Burbank and partner Cory Cocchi defeated Cam Manning and Kyle Reardon 2-1, which put the chances of a Team Green comeback out of the question.
Luke Crowley and partner Zach Burke were able to enjoy the last 2 holes of their match against Sam Webster and Sam Perkins, once the results were in, while Nolan Warren and Katherine Young were thankful for the early victory, as they were down 3 heading into the 9th against Josh Kelleher and Mike Eaves.
