Panthers Slay the Dragons

For the first time in team history, the Whitman Hanson Golf Team defeated the Duxbury Dragons today at Ridder Golf Course 232-241 to even their record at 8-8 to keep their hopes for the state tournament alive.

The historic upset was led by senior Anthony Palmacci, who scored the day's low of 1 over par, 35. Junior captain Owen Manning, who was paired with Palmacci, carded a 2 over par to help set the tone for the day. Senior Matt Stanish and junior Ed Scriven both finished 5 over, while senior captain JP Drier had a solid 6 over par performance.

The victory was truly a team effort and well deserved. They hope to punch their ticket to the state tournament tomorrow on their senior night, as they host Quincy.
