The Panther Golf Squad opened the 2023 season today at Ridder Farm Golf Course, playing host to the Hanover Hawks. Whitman Hanson had some bright spots in the match, but lost 259-273 to the visitors to start the year off 0-1.
Recently named captain, junior Blake Belcher led the Panthers with his 6 over par performance, 42, while sophomore Cooper Britton carded a 7 over par, 43. Senior Matt Ward, along with juniors Ryan Hathaway and DJ Tsiantoulas, made their Panther debut today as well to help add excitement to the match. Although disappointed with the loss, there is some optimism heading into the weekend, as the team knows they are capable of performing better.
The team is home again on Monday, where they will welcome the always tough Duxbury Dragons.
