WH Golf Falls to the Lakers

The Panthers hosted the Silver Lake Lakers today at Ridder Farm Golf Course.  The first contest between the two teams was decided by just 7 strokes.  Today, with both teams putting out their best scores of the season, it came down to just 5 strokes, with the visiting team on top, 237-242.

Whitman Hanson was lead by captain Blake Belcher and junior Cooper Britton, who both shot a 5 over par, but Silver Lake's Parker Brey (+1) and Ryan Russo (E) were the difference makers in the match.

Other notables for the Panthers: Senior Derek Olson had one of his best performances of the year, with a 6 over, 40.  Freshman Brendan Breheny turned in an 8 over par, while sophomore Kaden Serkiz and junior Matt Carroll both shot a 9 over on the day.

The loss was definitely disappointing, but the Panthers were proud of the fact that they were competitive and scored their lowest team score of the year.  With the long weekend coming up, and just three matches left on the schedule, the team will continue to work to finish the season strong.  They travel to Granite Links on Tuesday to take on the Quincy Presidents.
