The Whitman Hanson Varsity Golf team lost their season opener at Ridder Farm Golf Course against the Scituate Sailors 253-248.
The new look Panthers were led by senior captain Matt Korzec, who turned in a 3 over par 37. Though the team is disappointed to start the year off at 0-1, they remain optimistic as they head into the weekend.
Next Tuesday they travel to Hingham to take on the Harbormen at South Shore Country Club.
