WH Golf Drops Season Opener

The Whitman Hanson Panthers opened their season today off the front nine at Ridder Farm Golf Course against Patriot League contenders, the Duxbury Dragons.  The Panthers lost the contest 216-253 to begin at 0-1.

Junior Cooper Britton led the team with a solid 2 over par, 36, followed by sophomore new-comer, Cam "Seabass" Nehiley, who made his debut on the team with an impressive 4 over par, 38.  Senior captain Blake Belcher also contributed with a 42, and freshman Ryan Wojdag shot a steady 45.

The Panthers were no match for the Dragons, who shot an incredible 12 over par as a team, with two of their players (Matt NeJame and Mike Yucius) each turning in a 1 under, 33.

Despite the loss, the WH squad found lots of positives to take away from the day.  The team can rest and practice the rest of the week to get ready for their rival match against Silver Lake next Tuesday.
